Home cooking is a challenge for most people.
It takes time to go to the grocery store.
It takes time to look up a recipe.
It takes time to prepare the ingredients.
It takes time to cook It takes time to clean up.

You might also say,
You don’t know what to buy in grocery store.
You don’t know what is healthy.
You don’t know how to cook.
You don’t have the energy
You don’t have the time.
The list can get even longer.

At first glance, home cooking doesn’t seem possible or appealing at all.

It is much easier to click a button on your smartphone and have food delivered to your doorstep (or even to your bed).

Honestly, I get it. I really do.

I have only started cooking more than 80% of my meals several years ago.

Like some of you, I would do a little home cooking, takeouts, and eating out.

I also had help with good prep my entire life; from my parents, grandparents, and my partner.

With Covid being a catalyst, I started to learn and practice cooking more consistently. (It helps a lot that I have a partner who is an amazing cook)

At one point, we only had delivery or ate out fewer than 10 times in the entire year.

After a few years of practice, I am at a point where home cooking is part of my life, and I enjoy eating my own food more than eating out.

Benefits of Home Cooking

You have total control over your kitchen tools.
You have total control over your ingredients.
You can customize your meals.
You save money.

Kitchen tools are often overlooked.

Most restaurants use non-stick cookware, which increase your exposure to PFAS (it is already high in the environment) and Teflon fumes.

They are linked to many health issues—such as hormone regulation, cancer risk, and more

In terms of ingredients, seed oils used in restaurants are an important factor that makes me avoid eating out.

Other factors such as the seasoning, water source, food dye, and food source are all contributing factors to your health and well-being.
