Between the seasonal nodes “Minor Heat” (小暑)and “Major Heat” (大暑)at the moment, this is the hottest period of the year.
Although summer is about grow, movement, and connections, I want to challenge you to do the opposite.
You will take time to slow down in your day, be away from all distractions and connections, be with yourself and your thoughts only.
Instructions:
1) Be disconnected from everyone and everything for 5 to 15 minutes (longer if you wish) daily, ideally first thing in the morning.
2) Disconnect from your partner, roommate, text messages & emails, music, social media, and TV. But not your kids or your pets.
3) For your kids and pets, you will exercise extra mindfulness when you interact with them now, because you don’t have any other distractions.
4) Put Yourself First, perform any activities you want to do for yourself during this time.
5) Don’t get into a problem-solving or task-oriented during this time.
6) This is a time to support yourself, with with your emotions and thoughts.
7) Observe what comes up and reveals to you.
Make it a habit.
